  • What is the noise about?
Like every other means of public transportation, airports must deal with noise and develop a plan to minimize it. While there are many factors that contribute to noise in and around the airport, we often have limited control over many of these events. With increases in tourism and firefighting operations during the summer months it can often lead to an increase in flight frequency and associated noise. In addition, we often see military training operations utilizing the airport at limited times throughout the year. While many of these events are relatively short lived, we recognize that each of these events affects everyone differently.
At MSO, your voice matters, and we are doing our best to minimize any potential noise disturbances for residents of the area. If you would like additional information, or to participate in upcoming noise planning/studies at the airport, please CLICK HERE to visit the FAA Noise Inquiry Portal.
