Missoula Montana Airport issues identification badges to personnel requiring access to restricted areas. All badges are issued in accordance with TSA and CFR 49 part 1542 regulatory requirements. There will be mandatory training and background checks prior to badge issuance. Due to federal regulations, any badge expired for more than 30 days requires that the individual complete the background and initial badging process again.
The Missoula Montana Airport uses AirBadge, a compliance automation software, to complete the process to issue badges. All "New" badge applications and "Renewal" badge applications are now managed and tracked through AirBadge.
To begin the badge application process for a "New" badge (individuals who have not been issued a badge with MSO, or had a badge but either turned it in, or it is more than 30 days expired) will receive an email from AirBadge-MSO, once the Signatory Authority for your specific company/organization begins the process. If you have not received an email from AirBadge-MSO, contact your assigned Signatory Authority. If you do not know who that is, contact the Missoula Airport Administration Office at 406-728-4381.
To begin the badge application process for a "Renewal" badge (individuals who already have a badge with MSO that are not 30 days past their expiration date located on the front of their badge), log into your AirBadge account and find the "Start Application" button under badge applications. You are able to renew up to 30 days prior to expiration. If you do not remember your login information, or you do not see a "Start Application" button once logged in, please contact your assigned Signatory Authority. If you do not know who that is, contact the Missoula Airport Administration Office at 406-728-4381.
Badge Applicant Tips: You must bring in the identification you submitted with your badge application to every badge appointment. If you do not have your ID's, we will not be able to proceed with the process.
Call the Missoula Airport Administration Office at 406-728-4381 if you have any questions or if you need to speak with someone about available appointment times. Appointments are only available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 9:00am – 3:00pm, Wednesday 10:00am – 3:00pm. Closed Friday - Sunday.
Lost / Stolen / Unreturned Badge: All badges must be returned upon expiration, termination (within 24hrs) or renewal. In order to prevent unauthorized access, any lost or stolen badge must be immediately reported to the Missoula Airport Administration Office at 406-728-4381 or after hours to the Public Safety Office at 406-541-3100.
